Bound Plattvav Coverlets: And Kubbe's Weaver Brothers by Asa Viksten Strombom
Translated into English by Becky Ashenden
This beautiful little book from Vävstuga Press features an unusual weave structure for coverlets, as well as relating the lives of the two brothers responsible for this innovative technique. While the technique uses traditional designs, there are no large floats on the front side of the fabric, making it ideal for coverlets, pillows, and upholstery. The floats are all moved to the back side, making fabric one-sided. The detailed description of how to weave bold and striking projects in this technique is complemented by many inspirational images of older textiles and engaging stories. We encourage this technique to live on in today's world.
